There are no navigation options or even an address bar. Your app will open in a minimal browser frame. Right-click it and choose Pin to Taskbar from the menu. You can do the same from the desktop icon. Right-click on it and choose More > Pin to taskbar. If you prefer to have the web app shortcut on the Taskbar, open the Start menu and find the app. A shortcut for the app will be created on your desktop and Start menu. Next, type in a meaningful name for the shortcut of the web app and click the Install button. Then click the Settings button (three dots in the upper-right corner) and go to Apps > Install. Open Chromium Edge and head to the site you want to use as an app. For example, using PWA technology is the only way to install Disney+ as an app on Windows 10. This installs a site as a progressive web app (PWA), which gives a site an app-like experience. The idea of this is similar to using a website as an app with Google Chrome.
Some examples of sites you might want to use are YouTube, Pandora,, or even groovyPost. The header icons feature is still a work-in-progress, so they remain non-customizable to the end user.You can use any site you want as a web app from the new Edge. Traditionally for the Settings header icons, there is no option to disable it. If you have already set it as your default browser, you will be able to open it from there, as the prompt suggests.
Once you click on the icon, you will get a prompt to set Microsoft Edge as your default web browser. The icon promotes the latest Microsoft Edge browser. I n previous implementations, there was a link to the Your Phone app, but now it is not available.Īs of Windows 10 Build 20221, its place is taken by the new Web browsing icon.
